Model: HET050BL032-40ID-24A
A 5 inch WVGA module for vehicle interfaces that have outgrown a basic control display: dashboards with live graphics, head units, reversing monitors, machine cabs and marine consoles. At 800×480 the panel carries roughly 187 pixels per inch — enough for map views, camera feeds, multi-window layouts and smooth gauge animation, rather than large digits alone.

We build the 5 inch class in two resolutions. Both use a parallel RGB interface, so the hardware design stays familiar either way:
| This module — 800×480 | 5.0" 480×272 | |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution | 800 × 480 (WVGA) | 480 × 272 |
| Pixel density | Approx. 187 PPI | Approx. 110 PPI |
| Module outline | 148 × 84.55 × 4.68 mm | 120.7 × 75.8 × 2.78 mm |
| Best for | Camera views, maps, rich UI | Gauges, large digits, simple menus |
| System load | Larger frame buffer, more bandwidth | Minimal MCU requirements |
Choose 800×480 when the interface shows video, navigation or detailed graphics. Choose 480×272 when the display is a dedicated control panel and the priority is a lean, low-cost board.
WVGA is the workhorse resolution for vehicle displays. Most automotive SoCs, camera modules and HMI toolkits target 800×480 natively, so assets and drivers are readily available and integration is quick.
IPS, Normally Black. Drivers and operators read the screen from an angle. IPS holds color and contrast across the full viewing angle, and the normally black structure keeps night-mode interfaces properly dark — important when a bright panel would reflect in the windscreen.
Sized for real dashboards. At 148 × 84.55 mm the module carries enough mounting surface for a robust bezel and sealing arrangement, at 4.68 mm total thickness.
Stable across batches. High-stability liquid crystal materials and an evenly tuned backlight keep brightness uniform across the panel and consistent from lot to lot, with no flicker and reliable low-temperature start-up.
We supply this module with custom cover glass cut to your panel outline, with printed borders, brand logos, icon legends and openings for keys, LEDs or sensors, optically bonded to the display.
Optical bonding removes the air gap behind the cover glass, cutting reflection under direct sun, deepening contrast and strengthening the front surface. A capacitive touch panel can be integrated in the same stack for touch-operated head units and control panels.
FPC length, shape and pin definition, backlight brightness and interface definition can all be adapted, with MIPI, LVDS and SPI options available across our range.
Our Shanggao factory is certified to IATF 16949:2016 by Zhong An FCAV International, with a scope covering the design and manufacture of liquid crystal display modules. We also hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IECQ QC 080000 certification, and all modules comply with RoHS, with third-party test reports available for your supplier qualification.
Every unit is 100% lighting-tested before shipment, and new designs are validated with high- and low-temperature cycling, damp-heat aging, ESD, drop and vibration testing before mass production.
Vehicle dashboards and instrument panels, aftermarket head units, reversing and camera monitors, HVAC and comfort controls, marine and powersports consoles, forklift and agricultural machine cabs, RV and caravan panels, and industrial vehicle terminals.
Send us your panel drawing and cover glass artwork, interface, required operating temperature range, brightness target and estimated annual quantity. Our engineers will confirm the specification, quote the module and arrange samples — built on the same automated lines used for mass production.
