A 5 inch widescreen IPS module for vehicle interiors and aftermarket electronics: dashboards, control panels, reversing monitors, marine and powersports gauges, and RV or cabin controls. At 480×272 the panel keeps data volume and processor load low, which is exactly what a dedicated control display needs — large, legible values and icons rather than a desktop-style interface.

Because the panel is IPS with a full viewing angle, the same reading is visible from the driver’s seat, the passenger side or standing beside the vehicle.

Why this module

480×272 keeps the system simple. A parallel RGB interface at this resolution drives directly from the MCUs and low-cost SoCs used in vehicle control boards — no high-speed serial link, no bridge IC, modest frame buffer and low power. For dashboards, monitors and control panels, that is the sensible engineering choice, not a compromise.

IPS, Normally Black. Vehicle displays are read from an angle far more often than head-on. IPS holds color and contrast across the full viewing angle, and the normally black structure keeps night-mode interfaces properly dark.

Widescreen, and shallow. At 120.7 × 75.8 mm and 2.78 mm thick, the module suits the wide, shallow openings typical of dashboards and centre panels.

Stable across batches. High-stability liquid crystal materials and an evenly tuned backlight keep brightness uniform across the panel and consistent from lot to lot, with no flicker and reliable low-temperature start-up.

Custom cover glass, printing and touch

This is a display designed to disappear into a product. We supply it with custom cover glass cut to your panel outline, with printed borders, icon legends and button markings — such as SET, SEL and MODE — screen-printed directly onto the glass, plus openings for keys, LEDs or sensors.

The cover glass is optically bonded to the display, which removes the air gap behind the glass, cuts reflection under direct sun, deepens contrast and adds strength to the front surface. A capacitive touch panel can be integrated in the same stack where the interface calls for touch rather than buttons.

FPC length, shape and pin definition, backlight brightness and interface definition can all be adapted to your design, with MIPI, LVDS and SPI options available across our range.

Our Shanggao factory is certified to IATF 16949:2016 by Zhong An FCAV International, with a scope covering the design and manufacture of liquid crystal display modules. We also hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IECQ QC 080000 certification, and all modules comply with RoHS, with third-party test reports available for your supplier qualification.

Every unit is 100% lighting-tested before shipment, and new designs are validated with high- and low-temperature cycling, damp-heat aging, ESD, drop and vibration testing before mass production.
