Model: HE496CL012-30IS-12A
A 4.96 inch portrait IPS module built for the vertical spaces vehicles actually offer: motorcycle and scooter dashboards, e-bike displays, handlebar-mounted instrument clusters and vertically mounted in-car panels. Between the handlebars or beside a centre stack, the usable area is tall and narrow — and a portrait 480×854 panel uses all of it.
At roughly 198 pixels per inch, speed readouts, gear indicators, battery levels and navigation arrows stay clearly legible at the quick-glance distances riders and drivers actually use.

Portrait by design, not by rotation. The panel is built for vertical mounting, so the layout your team designs — speed at the top, trip data below, warnings at the bottom — maps directly onto the display without software rotation tricks.
IPS, Normally Black. A rider reads a dashboard from above and at an angle, never straight on. IPS holds color and contrast across the full viewing angle, and the normally black structure keeps dark dashboard themes properly dark instead of grey.
2.24 mm thin. Handlebar pods and dashboard housings are tight. A thin module leaves room for the board, the bracket and the weather sealing around it.
MIPI for a clean board. A MIPI DSI interface matches the SoCs used in current instrument clusters and telematics units. LVDS, RGB and SPI versions of our displays are available where your controller calls for them.
Vehicle displays are almost never installed behind a plain rectangular window. We supply this module with custom cover glass cut to your housing outline, including shaped profiles, printed borders and openings for buttons or sensors, optically bonded to the display.
Optical bonding removes the air gap behind the cover glass, which cuts reflection under direct sun, deepens contrast and adds strength to the front surface — all relevant on a dashboard exposed to daylight and vibration. A capacitive touch panel can be integrated in the same stack for touch-operated clusters and control panels.
FPC length, shape and pin definition, backlight brightness and interface definition can all be adapted to your design.
Our Shanggao factory is certified to IATF 16949:2016 by Zhong An FCAV International, with a scope covering the design and manufacture of liquid crystal display modules — the quality management standard used across the automotive supply chain. We also hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IECQ QC 080000 certification, and all modules comply with RoHS, with third-party test reports available for your supplier qualification.
Every unit is 100% lighting-tested before shipment, and new designs are validated with high- and low-temperature cycling, damp-heat aging, ESD, drop and vibration testing before mass production.
Motorcycle and scooter dashboards, e-bike and electric scooter displays, handlebar instrument clusters, marine and powersports gauges, vertically mounted in-car control panels, and rear-seat or accessory displays.
Send us your housing drawing, interface, required operating temperature range, brightness target, cover glass and touch requirement, and estimated annual quantity. Our engineers will confirm the specification, quote the module and arrange samples — built on the same automated lines used for mass production.
